Michael Pollan

Another Audiosync free audiobook, this is the “prequel,” so to speak, of another book I read on the same subject, called, “In Defense of Food”. I enjoyed learning about farm practices and a variety of nature and food facts.

Pollan advises that we eat whole, rather than processed, foods. He reminds us of various food studies, backed by government supporters, that were eventually determined to be very bad advice--such as the advice to replace Butter with Margarine. He also warns that the recommended fruits and vegetables should ideally come from local Farmers Markets to increase the likelihood of freshness and proper farming practices. His advice seems logical, so yeah, I'd recommend this book.

As usual, Pollan is both enlightening and entertaining. But now I want to try mescalin.
