This video is highly recommended to people who wish to increase their consciousness of what they are putting into their bodies. The documentary exposes many of the corrupting effects which corporate greed has on our society, on our bodies, on our spirits, and on our relationships with one another and with our environment. All of these issues are relevant to those seeking to walk the way of repentance and illumination. Anyone participating in the Fast of Great Lent would do well to become more aware of these encompassing issues by viewing this video. ( )

The writers of Fast Food Nation and The Omnivore's Dilemma tell you where your food actually comes from.

Pretty good when it comes to being informative and educational, but not so much when it comes to being a movie.

We stand in the midst of a revolution in the United States. Never before have Americans cared so much about their food — not only what's in it, but where it comes from and how it's produced. Food Inc. sets out to lift the veil from the corporate consolidation that has radically changed the face of US farming in the last half-century, making its case with verve, wit and an affable accessibility. Whether it's Michael Pollan holding forth on what monoculture means to US food consumption, all-star farmer Joel Salatin inviting us over for a Fourth-of-July feast, or Stonyfield Yogurt founder Gary Hirshberg explaining why Wal-Mart is doing some good, this is a story that will challenge your assumptions about food culture no matter what side of the fence you’re on.

This documents the meat industry - how, with 4 companies controlling over 90% of the market, it has changed to not respecting the animals, employees and consumers. None of the big guys would let their contract farmers speak. Very like indenturement. The factory workers are bussed in, many illegals, and allowed to be rounded up by government a few at a time, after being recruited by the companies - who are not reprimanded. Meat libel laws??? Really?!! ( )
