Two short stories about the miscommunication and awkwardness that happens between men and women who are attracted to each other. Rooney writes writes with humor about the banal parts of life which make her characters feel real. ( )

Mr Salary and In Colour and Light are the two stories. Mr Salary – perfect short story and could have wandered beside these two characters for the full length of a novel. ( )
