I used this book for a remote storytime with my preschool students. I got it through Kindle Unlimited and was able to present it through a Zoom meeting.
The children really enjoyed the story. They were able to make predictions as the story progressed. They laughed at the ending.

A snowman who finds it dreadfully cold keeps doing things that cause him to melt, while the children who rebuild him each time offer clothing to keep him warm.

This is a seasons book! Teaching seasons, or even for when it is currently that season.

This book was just okay; I wasn't all that impressed with the story. The artwork is lovely though.

“Aaaaaachooooo!” Sneezy the Snowman is catching a cold, and he needs to figure out appropriate ways to keep warm in the midst of winter weather. Since he is made of snow, he learns that he melts when around warm things like hot cocoa, a warm bath, or a fire. However, plenty of clothes can keep him from winter’s worst effects like sickness.

This book, appropriate for kids in preschool up to early elementary school, teaches little ones about how to handle themselves in the midst of cold weather. It also teaches how snow behaves in different environments. The story unfolds repetitively so that it can interject a small or large group with raucous laughter. This book is well-suited for the winter months and especially around the December winter holidays.

Read this on kindle unlimited.
The illustrations are very cute, colorful and funny.

The Snowman keeps being attracted to warm things that disagree with him and make him melt. It's actually very silly and funny, but he is not very nice to the kids. He takes and takes and makes the children work for him instead of making them happy or having fun. It should be called the Selfish Snowman.

It's okay... I didn't find any solution in the end, they just went for ice cream. Don't know how I used this in a classroom, maybe have the children finish the story.

I also would have liked to see a new shape of the snowman every time he asks the kids to make him new again.

That befuddled bear who couldn't understand when Old Man Winter was telling him to go to sleep in Sleep, Big Bear, Sleep! returns in this autumnal adventure. This time convinced that his sneezes are leading to all kinds of catastrophes, from the leaves falling to the geese flying south, our ursine hero refuses to believe the wind's protestations that she is the one responsible. Finally, losing her patience, the wind shows Bear her power...

The second of three picture-books about Bear from author Maureen Wright and illustrator Will Hillenbrand, Sneeze, Big Bear, Sneeze! is actually the third I have read, as I picked them up out of order. Like the others, the text here is in rhyme, and the story features a humorous misunderstanding on Bear's part. I think the artwork here was my favorite, of the three books, as it captures the beauty of the autumnal colors quite nicely. Recommended to picture-book readers looking for rhyming stories about autumn.

An amiable bear with a hearing problem continually mishears Old Man Winter, who keeps saying "Sleep, Big Bear, Sleep! in this rhyming bedtime book. As the bear does everything but that - driving a jeep, working as a sweep, climbing a mountain steep - he gets progressively more tired, until finally he does what he should have all along: go to sleep for the season...

A few years ago I read Share, Big Bear, Share!, not realizing it was the third picture-book about this lovable but hard-of-hearing bear from author Maureen Wright and illustrator Will Hillenbrand. Realizing recently that I wanted to read the autumnal story about this character, Sneeze, Big Bear, Sneeze!, I decided to go back and first read this initial story. Pairing a rhyming text with cute illustrations, Sleep, Big Bear, Sleep! is a book that would work both as a basic introduction to the idea of hibernation for younger children, and as an engaging bedtime book, as the ursine hero does just what many youngsters do, in resisting going to sleep. I would recommend it for either purpose.

Sneezy the Snowman is cold so he tries several different things to help warm him up like drinking hot chocolate, wearing a scarf, and sitting in a hot tub. Naturally, these things make him melt because they are too hot. This book has a rhyming, repetitive pattern that is funny, engaging and invites participation from the audience. One of my favorites!

Sneezy the Snowman realizes he is too cold. His friends help him come up with several ways to help him warm up. Each idea makes him melt, until they decide to give him a jacket, scarf, and hat. Unfortunately, Sneezy is then too hot! Sneezy and his friends come up with a smart way to keep Sneezy at just the right temperature!

It’s Groundhog Day, and everyone is gathered to find out if it’s time for spring. But Groundhog does NOT want to leave his cozy bed in his cozy den. Will the townspeople be able to coax him outside to do his job?

I liked this book for many reasons. First, I liked this book because the language was patterned. This allows the students to get involved when the teacher reads a book. For example, it started out as the tree saying, share, big bear, share, which then led to big bear doing something else because it misunderstood what the tree was saying. Then, once the bear did something, the tree would say it again and the bear would do something else. The students would be able to realize this happen as it was being read to them. Second, I like this book because characters were well-developed. Throughout the whole book, I could visualize what was happening with the bear and the tree as they spoke. This helped me understand the story more as I read it. The characters would demonstrate what they were doing in the illustrations as it was also written down in text. The big idea of this book is to show was sharing looks like and that it is good to share even if it takes awhile for someone to understand the concept.

Big Bear sits down to enjoy his pail of blueberries, only to be reminded by the old oak tree to share with his woodland friends. Each time the arboreal elder reminds him to share however, Big Bear misunderstands his instructions, and does something else. Will the befuddled but essentially goodhearted bear ever get it right...?

The third picture book from author Maureen Wright and illustrator Will Hillenbrand about the humorous misadventures of Big Bear - the first two were Sleep, Big Bear, Sleep! and Sneeze, Big Bear, Sneeze! - this rhyming storybook highlights its message about sharing one's blessings while also delivering an amusing tale of continual miscommunication. Young readers and listeners will enjoy hearing about Bear's continual mistakes, especially if the storyteller reads this one with different voices for the two main characters. The artwork by Hillenbrand, created with pencil and digital media, is colorful and sweet, matching the tone of the tale quite well. Share, Big Bear, Share is one I would recommend to those who have enjoyed this ursine hero's previous picture-books, as well as to those looking for children's stories about sharing and/or humorous misunderstandings.

An adorable story where Bear has picked a whole trash can full of berries. Tree reminds him to share but saying in a low voice, "Share, Big Bear, Share!" But each time Bear misunderstands and its thinks Tree says, lair, chair, and other rhyming words. Great for a preschool storytime.

Summary- This book is about a town that is trying to get the groundhog out of bed so they can know if winter is over. The groundhog doesn't want to get out of bed so they keep bringing him things to try to get him to get out bed. The groundhog finally gets out of bed and doesn't see his shadow. The book is fun to read with the rhyming.
Genre- This book is a fantasy since a groundhog would not actually live in a house with a bed and be talking.
Ages- K-4 I think as a holiday book for groundhog day you could read it with any age but the younger ones (k-4) would probably enjoy it the most.
Media- Ink and Wash

Sneezy the Snowman gets cold one day. He drinks a warm drinks and melts. Children build him up again and gave him hat. Sneezy once again got cold and sat in a hot tub. He melted again, and was rebuilt once more. The children fitted him with a scarf. That still was not enough. Sneezy was cold and sat by a campfire. Once again, he melted. The children again rebuilt him fitted with a coat. Sneezy was then too warm and then ate an ice cream cone so he was the perfect temperature. Overall, this was a book that I found to be a very good read. I talked to a second-grade teacher and she said this was very popular in her class. The illustrations are very rich and colorful, and the story in fun and a good fit for a younger child. This would be a good story for children to read when the cold is coming and they are learning to dress properly
