Every now and then I like to read through a cookbook. Especially if it is from a certain place or about special memories. Those I keep on my shelves are the kind that make good reading, along with a couple of basic cookbooks. This book was borrowed. Interesting that it was published in 1971 to remind people of how cooking was done in the past and it laments about the passing of home baking and cooking and the use of fresh vegetables. The trend is now turning the other way. People are returning to fresh ingredients and home baked foods. I do think more people use convenience foods and fast food rather than home made. Hence our weight problem.… (mere)
