Art work was really pretty. Not a fan of cats but so far I thought this was cute. Funny dialogue. Can't judge the plot just yet but I am interested to see where this goes.

I just couldn't justify giving this book a higher rating, because the plot was very slow-moving and predictable, and the characters were flat. And some of it just didn't make sense.

A tie-in graphic novel retelling the events of Uglies from Shay's perspective. A quick read, with some great pictures, including some fabulous hoverboarding!

I read the Uglies series years ago, and I remember it being my favorite at the time, but there were characters and parts of the plot I'd forgotten about. I don't recommend reading this if you haven't read Uglies recently.
I also love manga, but I don't think the style worked for this story. A huge part of the novel is the focus on people's "flaws," but the art doesn't give a good sense of everyone's unique appearances. A different graphic style would've worked better.
