Mr. Putter and Tabby are so close and the best of friends! Tabby is just so happy with the new addition they added to their little family! Maybe a little too happy...things take a turn and read on to see what happens with their little family! It is such a cute book with a really happy ending. I loved this book and I think it was super cute for children! It was a short chapter book with only a few pages. I think it is a good book to use to introduce students to chapter books when they are young. ( )

Mr. Putter and Rabby decided to add a new pet to their family, and they brought home a fish that was obsessed with them at the pet shop. But Mr Putter soon realized that they had a problem; The fish is so excited that she can't rest.

It's a realistic chapter book because of it talks about the real thing in our life. ( )

Well, the expressions on Tabby's face are worth five stars. This is *so* adorable. My favorite easy-reader series after Lobel's Frog & Toad. ( )

Mr. Putter and Tabby are characters in a prominent beginning reader series that bears their names. Mr. Putter is a kindly old man and Tabby is his faithful pet cat. In this book, the duo decides to add a new pet to their household, and they take home a fish that had entranced them at the pet shop. Mr. Putter soon realizes they have a problem, though; Tabby is so excited by the fish that she can't get any rest. She spends all her time frenetically batting at the fish bowl. She even forgoes her sleep to watch the swimming fish, her tail twitching nervously the whole while. A little thinking soon solves the affair. They ask their friend if she is interested in adopting a fish. Her dog doesn't get worked up over the fish's presence in the house and it all works out. Mr. Putter and Tabby even can visit their fishy friend. The story is simple but appealing, with a quiet humor that is really quite charming. Tabby's agitation over their new housemate is hilarious, particularly for cat owners like us. This book is a nice addition to our beginning reader collection, a type of story that we draw on regularly lately, especially for our bedtime books. We will need to check out more in the Putter and Tabby series. ( )
