May be my favorite from the series about Old Bear. Just too darn cute and funny! ( )

This book is such a fun, wonderful book! It is the story of little bear looking everywhere to find his trousers around the house. He encounters many of his stuffed animal friends who all tell him that they have seen his pants at one point, but passed them along to someone else. This leads little bear on a big adventure looking high and low to find where his trousers could be next. When he finds them, all of his friends are there to share in eating a special "trouser day" cake that was iced by none other than icing from little bears trousers. The iillustrations in this book are beautiful and so fun to look at. In a classroom setting this book can be used paired with a fun scavenger hunt activity in the classroom, or spark a discussion among students about respecting each other's things and not taking what is not yours. Little Bear's Trousers by Jane HIssey is another wonderful book by this author. Little Bear awakes and immediately has a problem, his trousers are missing! And I love that she chose to use the word trousers and not pants. It seems more dignified for a stuffed animal to wear trousers than pants. I don't know, but I just like her word choice her. This tale is somewhat formulaic in that Little Bear seeks advice from Old Bear. Old Bear tells him where he saw the trousers last and that begins Little Bear's hunt...stuffed animal after stuffed animal, he looks for his trousers. The unique part of the story is that each animal who had possessed the trousers were using them for different purposes. I liked the creativity Hissey employed as each animal used the trousers. This book also has great detailed illustrations that bring the words to life. It could almost be read without the words! Of course this children's story ends on a happy note. Another great book by Jane Hissey. ( )

Beautiful illustrations - probably more memorable than the story. Not that the story is that bad - Little Bear wakes up one morning to find his pants or "trousers" are missing. The story follows Little Bear's search for his trousers throughout the house as they are handed off from one stuffed animal to another - each one using them for a unique purpose. My three year old likes it. ( )
