A thoroughly delightful little YA book from an engaging historical series. Lighthearted and humorous combination of text and cartoons hits all the main points your more serious reader-scholars are already familiar with. I particularly liked Philip Reeve's drawings, especially the snotty look he managed to put on Queen Elizabeth's face when she repeatedly declares, "He really wanted to marry ME," whilst a grumpy herd of Scots nobles say, "Why can't she marry one of US?" The panel after Mary's execution is hilarious: "Scots Queen. Parts A & B. Best before 1587." Oh, my. I only wish I had some young person with a book report assignment so I could force this volume into their hands. ingen anmeldelser | tilføj en anmeldelse

Mary Queen of Scots is dead famous for: having terrible taste in husbands, rotting away in Liz 1's prison and, totally losing her head - on the chopping block. This work presents the inside story. It lets readers discover some Prickly Thistle Facts about the Scottish Queen and her hopeless husbands. Ingen biblioteksbeskrivelser fundet. |
