"About Habitats: Wetlands" by Cathryn Sill is an easy to read, informative book about the wetlands and the different habitats that live within them. This book would be great for teaching a first or second grade class about the wetlands. The book includes a glossary of words that may be unfamiliar, websites to further knowledge on wetlands, and deeper explanation of each page of the book in the back. ( )

This picture book does a great job explaining what wetlands are and have beautiful illustrations to go along with the text. Readers are able to learn the water can be fresh or salty, some are under water all the time and other wetlands the water drains away or dries up and much more. This is a perfect book for young readers to learn about wetlands from the way the author explains in simple, easy to understand language. Readers learn that the wetlands along seacoasts help protect the land from bad storms and other valuable information. The illustrator painted beautiful detailed pictures that shows the wetlands and different characteristics. ( )

The picture book is 'About Habitats: Wetlands,' by writer Cathryn Sill and illustrator John Sill. The book informs readers about the different types of wetlands around the world. We learn the plants that grow in these lands and how animals thrive on the areas. The Sills were even nice enough to include the names of the plants and animals in each illustration. Beyond that, we are read how wetlands have been protected the residing land from storms and floods. This book goes on to tell us that these wetlands are being destroyed by those who don't understand the importance of these protectors. ( )

Wetlands are covered with shallow water. It can be salt or fresh water. A lot of animals live there and it feeds people with berries, rice, shrimp, crayfish, and fish. The wetlands is a very important place because it keeps our water clean and saves us from floods. ( )

"Wetlands" is very informative and beautifully illustrated. Children will enjoy identifying the animals, plants and insects and learning the importance of wetlands. ( )
