More fun for fans of Cowgirl Kate and her irrepressible horse Cocoa with the staunch friendship between the two friends as the focus. Cocoa's love of food and eating is played for more laughs but we get to see more cow herding techniques and even some roping. This is a strong entry in the series with Lewin's illustrations ably giving life to the duo. ( ) One of a series of short chapter books about the adventures a girl and her horse face daily. In the first chapter, the horse wishes to wear boots instead of horseshoes. The second, a small calf goes missing and the girl and horse try to find it; however, the horse gets sidetracked by corn. In the third chapter, the girl is trying to catch the animals with a rope but she always misses. She then tries to practice with the horse but cannot catch him. It was after she said there was Timothy grass nearby that the horse stopped, and she was able to catch him in the rope. In the fourth chapter, the calf went missing again; however, after her mother called her, she went back to the herd. On their way back to the farm, the horse decided to jump into a pond. I actually read the book Spring Babies. It is a different book in the series which shows all the different spring babies Cowgirl Kate and Cocoa, her horse, see on the farm. Cocoa likes a lot of attention and isn't very patient with the spring babies, but Kate loves them. It teaches about farm life, and when animals have their babies. It is also an early chapter book. ingen anmeldelser | tilføj en anmeldelse
