When Dandelion gets an invitation to a party, he's excited. The invitation is extra fancy, so Dandelion decides to get himself all dressed up. But when he gets to the party, no one recognizes him! Fortunately, it all works out in the end, and Dandelion learns an important lesson about being true to who you are.

I liked this book because of the moral and the characters. The books ends very cute, and the readers learn a lesson to always be yourself, and that you are the only person you should be trying to impress. A moral like this is very important to young children because they are constantly competing with their peers. I also like the characters in the book. The characters are all different and all help Dandelion in a different way, and they each have a different dynamic to the story line. The purpose of the story is to inform children that they should be themselves no matter what! ( )

I liked the book Dandelion by Don Freeman for three reasons. First, the writing is simple enough that younger students would be able to read it. Also, the book has some rhymes that would make it easier for students to read since there might be some words they don’t know. For example when Dandelion goes to get his haircut but it didn’t turn out as expected, “ When Lou Kangaroo had finished Dandelion looked a bit foolish. His mane was frizzy and fuzzy and completely unrulish”. The rhyming helps readers maintain the flow of the book. The second thing I liked about this book was the message or the moral the author was trying to get across. In the beginning, Dandelion was invited to a tea party by his friend Jennifer Giraffe and the invitation said “come as you are” but Dandelion decided to get all fancy with a new hair style, new clothes, and new accessories so that when he went to Jennifer Giraffes house she didn’t recognize him. The moral of the story is to always be yourself because that’s the best version of you. Lastly, illustrations in this book are great. You are able to tell what is going on in the book even without the words. These illustrations are detailed and help the reader put the whole story together. ( )

The book ,"Dandelion," by Don Freeman is a book about a Dandeloin who gets invited to a "come as you are" tea-and-taffy party at Jennifer Giraffe's house! Dandelion decides not to come as he is, but tries to immpress his friends by coming as a stylish, cool, dandy lion.who is smart, jazzy and sophisticated. He is very handsome. but he gets the surprise of his life when he shows up at Jennifer Giraffe's door and his she doesn't recognize him and closes the door abruptly in his face. Sad and down trodden, he wanders off and soon finds himself in a terrible rainstorm. He gets soaking wer and now looks like his old self. He returns to the party and tells his friends about what happened. they have a good laugh. Dandeloin is glad too be back to his old self and most of all, he is glad to be with his friends. ( )
