This book was probably my favorite in this series. It was really fun to read this book about the Hardy Boys & their loyal friend Chet. This story is about the encounters the Hardy Boys (Joe and Frank) have while trying to unveil the mystery in the haunted fort owned by the French at one point. Unfortunately the English attack the fort and left it in ruins unaware of the treasures inside. Eventually Chet (the Hardy Boys friend) gets a letter from his uncle to come to his art school to solve a mystery. Unable to pass up the deal the Hardy Boys race to Chet's uncle to help him out. When the Hardy Boys arrive they are instantly put into action as their car starts to roll down the hill and almost hits someone.

I personally like this series for all the action & mystery it has in it. It was so much fun to read & I recommend for all children to read at least one of these books. My age recommendation would be for eight years and up. This was so much fun to read & I was kept on the edge of my seat or in confusion about how they solved it out. Other then that this book was making me wish I was one of them. In the end outcome I was completely amazed and I just couldn't get it through my head. This book was so amazing and I can't wait to read more of this series. ( )

Frank and Joe Hardy are called to Millwood, an art community, by their friend Chet's uncle so they can investigate a missing painting. Things get more interesting, though, as more art pieces go missing, opionated history buffs clash and someone lays traps to keep the boys from finding either the paintings or the fabled treasure to which the paintings supposedly lead.

I've never read a Hardy Boys mystery [or Nancy Drew] before, but it is about what I expected. It was an easy read, with lots of intrigue and a fair amount of humour. Nothing astounding. Sorry for the lack of interest or insight. ( )
