This book had beautiful pictures, and it was a story about a young girl that helped her grandmother sow a quilt. The book was a great story about family, and the importance of sticking together. The ideal age group for this book would be intermediate children. This book could be used to show the importance of family in the book. ( )

Tanya can't go outside so she goes to talk with her grandmother. Her grandmother is working on making a patchwork quilt. Tanya learns the importance of the quilt. It is filled with the memories that the family makes together. When her grandmother became sick Tanya and her mother worked on the quilt The story ends when the quilt is finished and given to Tanya. ( )

This is a sweet book celebrating family and being there for each other during tough times. In the story, the young girl Tanya, spends time with her grandmother, someone who has always been there for her. She has memories of her grandmother sewing clothes and most importantly, making quilts. When she hears her grandmother is not doing well and is too weak to finish the quilt she start, Tanya decides to finish it for her.
