Not a fan at all of the illustration style, and not particularly fond of how anti-Mom the comments in the beginning are, even if the character eventually appreciates his mom in the end. ( )

My case study child is having trouble with his behavior at school. And he is not listening to his mother. I wanted a book where if you were about to lose your mom you would realize just how special she is, but in a humorist way. I of course didn't want to traumatize the child. This book accomplishes this perfectly and I am excited to see how my case study child responds to this book. Maybe I'll even have the mom read it to him.

Milo begins by thinking about how his mom just makes him do chores and gets him in trouble. While he is sleeping aliens from Mars come don and take his mom, so he chases after. When they get to Mars he sees that the aliens didn't have moms so they wanted someone from Earth to come and help them with what moms do for their children. As Milo is walking he falls and loses his helmet, but his mom comes and gives him hers. The aliens give his mom another helmet and Milo waits with her all night until he wakes up. ( )
