Book and author summaries from dust jacket flaps: ...The Kingfisher Young People's Book of Oceans examines [oceans] from every angle, including the most up-to-date [as of 1997] exploration of the seas by means of submersibles, underwater cameras, and oceanographic satellites...The book also stresses the importance of protecting our oceans and the life in them from the environmental damage caused by overfishing, oil spills, and other forms of pollution. The ocean holds the key to where we came from and, in many ways, the key to our future. David Lambert is the author of nine non-fiction books on seas and oceans, including the award-winning Seashores. He has written more than eighty books for children and adults, mostly on earth sciences. He lives in Southeastern England, where the coastline is rich in mud flats and beaches. ingen anmeldelser | tilføj en anmeldelse
