This book would be good to use in the classroom as a science class worship. I would talk about how unique God made these animals and how unique each of them are too. Fun book for students to guess what animal is being described. Good for grades 3-8--especially boys. Good book for teaching animals from around the world..science addition. This book was an easy read, yet even still peaks the interest of a college student. ( )

This book expalins various "scary, creepy" creatures. Collard does a good job explaining that while these animals may look scary or have bad reputations they are often needed for certain jobs to maintain ecosystems. The surprise ending is a great. I think when students read this the surprise ending will really cement their memories of the book. This would be great to use for a science/writing project. Students could research an animal they think is "dangerous" or "scary" and write things down that aren't so scary about it. This would also be good for boys or for reluctant readers. ( )

This book is a look at various creepy animals and their facts but this book is different from others. Check out this unlikely ending which changes the flow of the entire book. I would use it to teach writiers craft b/c of the ending, maps b/c of the map in back, and of course animals. Grades preK-6 ( )
