Title: Line and Scribble - Author: Debora Vogrig - Illustrator: Pia Valentinis - Publisher: Chronicle Books LLC - Date: May 11, 2021 - Pages: 58 - Type of book/genre: picture book, I am not really sure how to classify the genre of the book, I suppose it is fiction. - Short Summary of the Plot: The Story begins by introducing line and scribble. The line goes straight/ can be drawn with a ruler, and scribble wanders/dreams. The author gives examples like drawing straight lines for hair, electrical wires, tight rope, breadsticks. They also give examples of scribble with curly hair, fireworks, dances, bounces, tornadoes. The images accompany what the description is saying, truly highlighting what line and scribble are in a fun way. - Tags/subject headings that describe the content: line, scribble, examples. - My response: I thought that this was a good book that students would enjoy, it gets creative with what line and scribble actually means. I could see myself reading this book to my students, then ask them to go draw lines and scribbles. This is a great picture book that provides lots of opportunities for creatively reading aloud or starting a conversation with kids. There is a lot of dynamic noise and movement in the illustrations, which is very impressive considering the illustrations are confined to primarily a pencil-like black and brief appearances of red for emphasis. For the classroom, this book would be a great segue into several different kinds of art projects or a class discussion on how different words or pictures can evoke certain things. ingen anmeldelser | tilføj en anmeldelse
Line goes straight on her way, while Scribble wanders and zigzags, but they are still best friends and can work together with their individual perspectives to make art. Ingen biblioteksbeskrivelser fundet. |

The title of this book is a great intro to what this book is about. I talk about how lines go straight in their ways and use a plane or train as an example. Then it says that a scribble wanders and digs a tunnel or takes a ride like a roller coaster. it shows how you can construct animals out of lines or scribbles to make their fur look straight or fluffy. Lines connect the stars and make constellations. Scribbles are dancing and bursts of energy. lines are rain and scribbles are lighting. ( )
