Ibn Arabi is one of the main spiritual teachers in the history of mankind. Known as "the greatest of the masters", he was born in Murcia in 1165 and died in Damascus in 1240. Ibn 'Arabi wrote more than four hundred works, among which The revelations of Mecca stand out, a vast encyclopedia of esoteric wisdom and spiritual knowledge, and its links of wisdom, whose direct translation from Arabic we are pleased to present here for the first time to the Spanish-speaking public. The present work was written after a vision. In it, the prophet Muhammad appeared to Ibn 'Arabi, holding a book in his hand; He communicated his title and ordered him to write down his teaching for the good of his disciples. The twenty-seven prophets (from Adam to Muhammad) are consecrated, respectively, each chapter of the book, which is centered on a particular aspect of the Divine Wisdom and the prophet who is its specific instrument. Each prophet is a setting that is made in a ring or other ornament to hold a precious stone, specially formed to be the receptacle of the wisdom in question. This book, the best compendium of the esoteric doctrine of Ibn Arabi, is undoubtedly one of the most difficult works of Sufi literature. It is also the work most attacked and persecuted by the opponents of Sufism, past and present, unable to understand its spiritual depth. His influence has been immense.
