This is a book that should be read to every child who is about to become a brother or sister for the first time. This is told from the perspective of a young boy who has just met is baby sister. All she does is fusses and makes messes so he calls her a monster. His wise grandmother tells him what to do to discover how to defeat this monster. Before long he has learned she is a kid just like him and loves her so very much. ( ) Our main charecter is upset about his new little sister, he's convinced she's a monster. She poops and cries and makes their parents sleepy. So tired, they can't even play anymore! He's sick of this monster! One day, during a game of spies, Grandma convinces him to try and get to know the monster. Soon, he's watching her grow up, and she's bringing him toys. He comes to love his sister and hates seeing her sad. I feel like books about older siblings are overdone, but this was really cute. The scene where the sister smiles and brings her brother a banana was so cute! I also liked the drawing of the monster-baby. ingen anmeldelser | tilføj en anmeldelse
Sometimes, the scary thing that goes bump in the night is none other than your new baby sister! "My Sister Is a Monster" is a tale of an older brother coming into terms with a new addition to the family; a family who is oblivious to the little monster living under their very roof. Between all the kicks, screams, weird smells, and messes, this brother comes to find a new friend who he can go on all kinds of adventures with. And before he knows it, apprehension and even fear turn into what this story is all about: unconditional love. No library descriptions found. |
