"Samiah Brooks never thought she would be "that" girl. But a live tweet of a horrific date just revealed the painful truth: she's been catfished by a three-timing jerk of a boyfriend. Suddenly Samiah-along with his two other "girlfriends," London and Taylor-have gone viral online. Now the three new besties are making a pact to spend the next six months investing in themselves. No men, no dating, and no worrying about their relationship status . . . For once Samiah is putting herself first, and that includes finally developing the app she's always dreamed of creating. Which is the exact moment she meets the deliciously sexy, honey-eyed Daniel Collins at work. What are the chances? When it comes to love, there's no such thing as a coincidence. But is Daniel really boyfriend material or is he maybe just a little too good to be true?"--… (mere)

I knew I’d love this book by the time I was done reading chapter one. I knew this book would be 5 stars whilst reading chapter 3. Loooved loved this book. ( )

I liked a lot of things about this book, but overall didn't love it. I liked the main characters, and they seemed like real people with real jobs. The story dragged on a bit, and was not helped by the details about coding. If I'd enjoyed the story more, then I would not have noticed so many factual errors. I liked the friendship of the title characters in the impending series very much, and wished that it hadn't been pushed aside in the story.

All in all, a good library book, and I'll probably read the next one. ( )

Samiah is amazing and I the conversations about how peopl perceive her and privilege generally merit 2 whole stars. I adored the female friendships and relationship with her sis. ( )

This was on my "to read" list for this summer. A refreshing office romance with a set of quirky characters who form a friendship over being catfished with a viral tweet/video. Samirah's new relationship with Daniel is new and exciting, but then the plot introduces some mystery. I thoroughly enjoyed reading this book so much - I did it in one sitting. I also enjoyed the story of the friendship growth between Samirah, Taylor and London. Also LOVED the fact that the main character was a strong, confident female in the STEM industry. This is the first time I've ever heard of the author, but I am a fan after reading this book. ( )
