This book is a great little interactive book for kids. It tells all about the industrial revolution from how machines changed farming to advances in medicine. Pretty much every nook and cranny of this book is filled with easy to read information, inserts, and see-through scenes. The pictures, photographs, and illustrations are great and really help to explain the text. There is a section at the end of the book that contains key dates and a glossary, which may be extremely helpful for younger audiences who don't know what words like "anesthetic" and "loom" are. The index is well organized as well. The end pages contain small pictures of industrial era machines atop a red background, which is indicative to the book's subject. There is also a listing of other books in the See Through History series. I think this book would be a great addition to classrooms for middle schools, but may be too juvenile for high school. ( )

A very detailed book about the Industrial Revolution. This book has a lot of great information for a child that is studying Industrial Revolution to get out of. The book breaks down all componets of the Revolution and explains in detail what happened during that time. This is a good book for students who need to learn about the Industrial Revolution. ( )
