Nana Malone does it again with her first book in the Prince Duet. Prince Tristan (cousin of the King) has been i exile since his family had plotted against Sebastian and his father. Tristan wasn't part of the plot but he has been kept away. Now, he is being targeted and the King wants hi to come home to protect him.
Of course, you can't have a Nana Malone book without a romance between a bodyguard and a royal. In this case with Ariel, the boss of Royal Elites and newly knighted Lady . Ariel and Tristan had known each other as young adults but things ended badly (although each thought the other had ended it - but that's a story for Book 2).
Just when things start looking up we must wait for book 2.

The wait is over. Ariel FINALLY gets the chance to unbreak her heart. Malone has kept readers waiting long enough and she delivered as only she can. With Return of the Prince, I got to revisit old friends, discover new ones and dive into danger with an intriguing royal entourage. Is this the beginning of the end? Or the start of something new? By now these characters are embedded deep within my heart and reside in a place of honor on my bookshelves. My only disappointment is that I have to wait To Love a Prince. ( )

Ariel has always been one of my favorite characters in the Royals series. But meeting Tristan is obviously new, though we've hear of him in passing from almost everyone else. In all honesty I wanted to whack Tristan upside the head for the pig-headedness he shows. An the way he's underestimating Ariel, so I'm hoping that she's going to give him a huge can of whoopa$$ real soon. The cliff hanger at the end has got me itching to find out who exactly is threatening Tristan's life and I'm pretty sure Ashton has something to do with it.
