Washington Through a Purple Veil Memoirs of a Southern Woman, by Lindy Boggs with Katherine Hatch (read 24 June 2007) This is an exceptionally pleasant book to read, telling of a remarkable woman and her fifty years in Washington, from 1941 to 1972 as the wife of an able Democratic House leader and from 1973 to 1991 as a member of the House from Louisiana. The story is told with grace and wit and cannot help but appeal to anyone interested in the history of the years she was in Washington. I was surprised at how much I enjoyed reading the well-composed memoir, albeit it does not say anything bad about anyone. ( ) ingen anmeldelser | tilføj en anmeldelse
