The children of a South African village eagerly gather at the crossroads to welcome their fathers, who have been away for months working in the mines. The children wait, but the men don't come. So the children keep waiting. And waiting. They wait all through the night, until the dawn brings both the day and the longed-for loved ones.

The story is about a group of young children from a small town in South Africa. They waited at the cross to meet their father who was coming home from the mine after being away for month they made musical instruments sing and dance while they waited. They all through the night but their father did not return until dawn. Everyone was so happy.

These kids are waiting for their fathers to come home from working away at the mines. They sit at the crossroad to all hours of the night because they can't wait. This book was cute and showed the love these kids had for their fathers. The story wasn't that great to me, but it was still cute. ( )

At the crossroads, there is singing and dancing from the children there because they are all excited for their fathers to be coming home from a long awaited stay away at work in the mines.
