Cute x's 100. I love Jessica Brody so much for how she gives us these adorable stories and characters.

I am a big Jessica Brody fan. BIG. Every book that I've read of hers makes me feel happy and good-- plus they just flow and come together with perfection.

I wanted to read this when it came out, but somehow it got overlooked. This might be a post for another day, but it got me thinking about how I really need to stop overlooking the cute, fun books for the intense thrillers or serious subject books.

The real reason I started this book though, was because I was SO in the mood for a Groundhog's Day book. I read [b:Neverworld Wake|35482482|Neverworld Wake|Marisha Pessl|https://images.gr-assets.com/books/1505270056s/35482482.jpg|56878900] last month, was OBSESSED and had a total book hangover, so I decided to go out and find a book that had the same thing going on. It just so happened that I had this book on my shelf waiting for me, so I dove in.

Groundhog's Day stories are so fun because everyone has days that they'd like a do-over. Ellie gets the ultimate do-over when she gets to repeat the day she gets dumped by her rock star boyfriend over and over again. She knows if she can just figure out the secret code to NOT getting dumped, she'll get out of this loop.

My fave part: The oldies!!! Ellie listens to 60's & 70's R&B and Rock music and I couldn't help but want to fire up my own oldies playlist that I hadn't listened to in a few weeks. I grew up listening to the oldies because of my parents-- and somewhere along the way, I went from thinking they were "lame" to knowing that I was "lame" for thinking that.

I thought this book was pure enjoyment and fun. It was a tad predictable because it's completely obvious where the whole romantic situation is headed, but sometimes that is okay. There is a certain formula to Jessica Brody's books & I'm cool with that.

OVERALL: If you like Groundhog's Day books (and who doesn't?), this book is for you!! It's one girl's quest to NOT get dumped-- but she also ends up finding out a lot about herself in the process. My fave part was the oldies that the main character listened to for every occasion, but you don't have to like the oldies to jam out with Ellie and her 7 Mondays!!

This was a cute book. It was fun watching Ellie try different things everyday until she became her true self. The plot was complicated, but sometimes it's nice to just read a sweet book with a happy ending. The idea of reliving a day over and over, like Groundhog Day, is interesting because you get to see all the different little things that could change and the main character becomes their best self. ( )

First of all I love the MC name; Ellison is such a unique name. I also loved that she played softball (one of my fav. pastimes). She is having a horrible Monday (come on we all know how treacherous Monday’s can be!). I didn’t like Tristan and loved her best friend Owen. He was so sweet. Overall it was a cute book. Seeing her go thru all 7 Monday’s, all of them a little different and still having to overcome them. It was an original and cute storyline. ( )

You’ll enjoy this realistic/paranormal novel.

Ellie has had a terrible Monday. She didn’t bring an umbrella, so she takes a terrible school picture; she fails a test she forgot to study for; she embarrasses herself making a speech; she runs a red light; and, her boyfriend breaks up with her. She just wants to do the day again and get it right. When she wakes up on Tuesday, it’s still Monday. What?!? She has to relive Monday until she figures out how to “fix” her life. The only person she confides in is her best friend Owen. Of course, he forgets by the next day because they are living it over again.

Ellie’s life has many people in this particular Monday: parents, sister, best friend, boyfriend, and running mate. Each day she tries something new, hoping that her boyfriend will not break up with her--that’s her goal every day. In each scenario, Ellie creates a problem that didn’t exist before, so how will she get it all perfect and stay with her boyfriend?

This novel uses an old storyline, but it’s still a very nice distraction. Once Ellie learns what her life needs, she’ll be able to move on. What gets me about books like this is--if we knew what we were doing wrong and had all knowledge, we would do so much better in life. She gets seven chances! It took six times to figure it out! In life, we get ONE. It’s fun to read these and imagine what would change in our own lives, but ultimately, we do the best we can. ( )

This was a light, predictable read reminiscent of the movie "Ground Hog Day" and the book "Before I Fall" but I have to say that by the end of the third Monday I was getting tired of the book and struggled though the next four Mondays. The seventh Monday was, in my opinion, the most enjoyable; Ellison speech was quite motivational. I also loved her playlists, and how each chapter started with a classic song title. Even though I enjoyed how Ellison matured and developed as she relived each Monday, I found the repetition of the events monotonous. ( )
