Nancy's parents win a night away at a resort, so Nancy and JoJo spend the night at their neighbor Mrs. DeVine's. Nancy makes sure JoJo has a "sleepover survival kit," but it turns out it's Nancy herself who needs it. A sweet story of sisters and first-time sleepover jitters, filled with fancy vocabulary of course. ( ) The author and illustrator work so well together on this book. The colorful illustrations with the cute font really make the book. This is also a great siblings book. Nancy and Jojo bond so well together and this is great to read to sisters and show the bond they have. I log the glitter used in the book along with the expressions used on the chacters face. "Fancy Nancy: Saturday Night Sleepover" by Jane O'Connor and Robin Preiss Glasser is a fictional book. This is a book that would be perfect for Kindergarten to about second grade. It is a fun and upbeat book about a little girl named Nancy. Her parents are going away, and Nancy and her sister are staying with one of the neighbors. Nancy is preparing her sister to stay away from home because she has cried about her mom and dad leaving her for the night. In the end, Nancy is able to help her sister overcome her fear of being away from her parents, but finds that she is unable to fall asleep when it comes time to do so. The illustrations throughout the books beautifully portray the story that is being told in this book. This is a great book that I highly recommend. When her mother wins a night at Whispering Pines Resort, and she and her younger sister JoJo must spend the night at their neighbor's house, Fancy Nancy steps in to reassure her frightened sibling, even going so far as to make her a special sleepover kit. But when the night at Mrs. DeVine's finally arrives, it is Nancy, rather than JoJo, who is sleepless and homesick. Perhaps big sisters need a little help too... The ninth full-sized picture-book featuring the eponymous Nancy and her many fancy adventures, Fancy Nancy: Saturday Night Sleepover is another winsome tale from author Jane O'Connor and illustrator Robin Preiss Glasser. I appreciated the fact that it is Nancy's own thoughtfulness, in preparing a kit for JoJo, that ends up aiding her when she herself becomes homesick. As always, the story here balances its heroine's penchant for sparkly extravagance with a portrait of her warmhearted love for friends and family. The artwork is (also, as always) colorful and cute. Recommended to all Fancy Nancy fans, and to anyone looking for picture-books about sleepovers, and any insecurities they may arouse in young children. ingen anmeldelser | tilføj en anmeldelse
