Richard North Patterson has created a southern mystery exploring family and loyalty. Adam Shaw finds the body of his former mentor's wife and must put his life, wife, and career on the line to find who-dunit.
Satisfying on many levels: the mystery itself and life as a wealthy southerner and as a husband. Fast-[aced ,enjoyable story about a man who proves loyalty has a steep price sometimes. ( )

Overly emotional soap opera. It is hard to read a book, for me at least, when you hate the main character. Makes it tougher if you dislike all the characters in the book. ( )
