The story starts with s 2000 year old man going to school, he has come to speak to the students and tell them what life was like 2000 years ago. The students could ask whatever questions they wished to ask. The students were inquisitive, interested and curious. The 2000 year old man was enthusiastic, wise, and confident. This book could be considered to be historical fiction, with an imaginary main character that could classify this as fantasy. There is bias present because there is not multiple opinions of the historical events. The book covers a great deal of historical content, but there is no specific story line present. The illustrations are comical and grab the readers attention. The cover is very appealing with a lot of detail. ( )

I can actually hear Mel and Carl's voices when I read this book. It is silly, but enjoyable. And the illustrations are wonderful. ( )

This story is about a man who claims to have lived for 2000 year. He visits the children at school and they get to ask him all kinds of questions. The man answers in ways that are funny to the children. The book is a funny book about history and customs from long ago.
I like the illustrations in the book but I didn't really care for the plot of the story. I think it would be funny and interesting to young children but not particularly one that I enjoyed.
This story could be used to help the kids transition from one activity to another. The book could be used to look up customs from long ago and learn the comical way that they were established. The book could be used about showing the way to respect our elders.
