Franklin can't ride his bike without training wheels, which is fine at first, because neither could his friends. But slowly, his friends started being able to ride their bikes without their training wheels, but Franklin still couldn't. This made Franklin frustrated and sad. He tried to ride his bike without them, but he fell into the bushes. Disappointed and upset, he didn't ever want to ride a bike again. But then, his parents showed him something… just because riding a bike without training wheels is easy for his friends, they struggle with things too. This encourage Franklin that he is not weird, and then he put on some pads to protect himself from falling, and he was on his way- falling several times but never giving up!

Genre: Fantasy

Most children are familar with Franklin and his friends and will be intrested in any story about this character. This is an especially touching book because it describes how we all have different talents. Franklin feels ashamed because he is having trouble learning to ride a bike. He then realizes all of his friends have difficulty learning new things. This helps him gain confidence to keep trying and accomplish his goal. A great lesson for any child.
