Frosty the Snow man comes to life and enjoys new friends. However, the weather gets warm and Frosty leaves.....but he'll be back one day.

Frosty the Snowman is a fantasy because snowmen can’t really come to life and talk. This book is about a group of kids who make a snowman. When they are looking for a hat for him one just appears out of nowhere and the snowman magically comes to life when the hat is placed on his head. Teachers could read this story to their children during the winter time. This is a book that teachers wouldn’t have to worry about reading around the holidays because it doesn’t have anything to do with Christmas; it’s just about snow and winter. After reading the book teachers could have their students write about what they would do with their snowman that came to life and have them draw a picture of what their snowman looked like and share it with the class. The illustrations in this book are very colorful yet simple. ( )

Frosty the Snow Man was born in 1950 as the subject of a phonograph record, and soon after appeared in many different forms. He has been in numerous Thanksgiveing Day and Christmas Parades. Unlike other snow men, he is at home even in the warmest parts fo the United States.
