There were things about it that I did enjoy and other things that I was not particularly a fan of. I liked that the book is very child centered in language and development and that it is expressive in regards to its target audience, appealing to them directly. For example, the beginning of the section about the sun begins with a question to the reader, "Have you ever complained about the sun, Junior Geniuses?" This engages the reader directly and creates an appeal to learn more. One think I did not like about the book was the illustrations. They seemed dull in comparison to the robust language of the text. For example, the illustrations were all black and white, no color and look as if someone just drew them on the page. I believe the appeal would have went a longer way had it been in color, especially discussing a huge topic such as space. The main message of this book is to inform the audience about outer space and the properties that it has. ( ) This book is an informational book about space. The book has Ken Jennings (Jeopardy champion) telling you interesting facts about space. The book is like a day in middle school, for example the book's chapters are called "periods". At the end of the book there is a final exam, and homework that is very interesting. The book tells you how it would be like to live in the I.S.S. (International Space Station). The book also tells you about the solar system and each planet in detail. I loved this book so much, and I liked it, because it was about outer space. I found it interesting how Ken Jennings wrote this book like a day of middle school, so it kept my attention. I liked how it kept your attention and that it is filled with good information. I liked the pledge at the beginning of the book, and I liked how it is true to how you should use your knowledge. I liked Ken Jennings as a character and how he's so "smart" in a kind of good way. Ken really got my attention, because he's some one I can relate with, and that is what you need to make a good book. ingen anmeldelser | tilføj en anmeldelse
