Sometimes, the greatest treasures that life has to offer go unnoticed behind the frantic pace of modern society. What if the people, places and things we have categorized in our lives as no more than average turned out to be something quite extraordinary? Discovering Joye is the amazing discovery of Joye Kanelakos's life's work in poetry. I did not know what to think when I opened the package with this physically little book “Discovering Joye” by Jim Stovall. Even though it is a small book, it is packed with a wealth of knowledge and insight about living your best life.
Joye Kanelakos was the mother of Jim Stovall’s employee Dorothy Thompson. After her mother’s passing, the family went through a “special box” Joye told them about before she passed. In it they found out their mother was a poet. No one knew.
Each chapter in the book Jim Stovall has written is a “discovery” chapter. Jim shows how to discover positive ways to look at various parts of our lives such as money, friends, work and family. Joye’s poetry is featured in each chapter and each poem chosen fits like a glove in the chapter where it was placed. The words are simple yet full of wisdom. What a wonderful treasure she left her family.
Jim’s way with words is powerful. He helps you find the power of positive in life situations. His word combined with Joye’s poetry make a perfect little book for discovering the treasures in our daily lives.

I did receive a copy of this book in exchange for my honest review. ( )
