A little girl lies in bed with her cuddly toy and dreams of the rocket, which hangs from the ceiling of her bedroom. Where does it fly? Where is it now? The author cleverly uses the fun orange rocket to help children learn basic concepts of direction. If flies up, down, left, right or is in the middle, the corner. Questions like, "Where are we now?" or "What's on your left?" engage the young reader further. There isn't enough text or really a story as such, to make the book a sensible bedtime read, but it's a great book for teaching positions, opposites, etc. The illustrations are completely to my liking. Bright, vivid and cheerful and young children will love them. And again, it's one of those books, which I find very helpful for teaching languages, too. Students will easily be encouraged to translate the directions or to answer the simple questions in a foreign language. I received a free advance copy of this book in exchange for an honest review. This in no way influenced my review. "Where is the Rocket" introduces toddlers and preschoolers to the concepts of "up", "down", "left", "right", "over", "under" and even "middle". The text is somewhat interactive as the reader helps decide where the rocket is in relation to other objects. The art is fun, drawn in cartoon fashion. This is a good read together book for a young explorer. ingen anmeldelser | tilføj en anmeldelse

Illustrations and spare text take the reader on a journey in perspective that follows a rocket's travels from a child's bedroom to outer space and home again, emphasizing such concepts as near and far, above and below, middle, front, and back. Ingen biblioteksbeskrivelser fundet. |
