This book is based on the TV series (which also must have inspired the film). It's all very silly and corny so far. I must see how it ends... or not. Max Smart is a moron. He is the inspector Clouseau of the spy world. Poor 99, a capable female spy, has to work with him to ensure the dotty Professor Von BOOM stays out of the clutches of the evil organisation KAOS by taking a circuitous route to the North Pole via the Antarctic. Smart's not-so-smart theories and remarks get more and more irritating. I got to chapter 3 and decided I would spend my life on something more worthwhile... ( )
