There are two popular books about the Gettysburg Address: "Lincoln at Gettysburg" by Garry Wills, and this one. They are different and complementary: the former provides the philosophical underpinnings of the Address, and the latter gives an excellent, vivid overview of the historical forces that led to the Civil War. Both books reward multiple readings because of the depth they bring to one of the greatest speeches ever. ( ) ingen anmeldelser | tilføj en anmeldelse
