I can see why it was nominated for a Hugo and even appreciate what's going on, but in the end I couldn't connect with it the way I wanted to. That surprised me because usually I'm the first one to enjoy the beautiful usage of words for their sake alone. [2013 Hugo Nominee Reading] Merged review: It's a beautiful post-war world. Husbands have strong handshakes and make excellent martinis. Wives manage their own households and work in science. Teenagers are tested to see where they best fit. This restoration of America is sponsored by Victory, Spotless Corp, and Ice-Cold Brotherhood Beer; "selling the world to the world." ingen anmeldelser | tilføj en anmeldelse

Enjoyable engrossing prose.
Depiction of hair-raising possibility of our future.
Disturbing on many levels.
