I love the historical details Vijay brings into this series. It puts me right there and I feel like I'm stepping back in time, entering the scenes. The clash of the pagan ways and the ways of those trying to bring Christianity to the people brings much conflict into the story, as the queen tries to unite all the people, whatever their belief. The edling is constantly the thorn in her way and is obsessed with removing her by whatever means necessary. Plenty of conflict and drama in this story to keep you on the edge of your toes. (
