Jakes son Sam gets involved with a pair of con artists and is on the verge of drinking again. Her husband Wade ends up being shot by the escaped convict. The one think I was unsure of was how much time had passed in between Knockdown and this one. It's obvious, from comments made by the characters that there has been at least a couple of years. I think I need to go back and reread Knockdown. (
