A heartwarming and hilarious New York Times bestseller from Fern Michaels, the acclaimed author of No Place Like Home and Crown Jewel, that will delight and inspire you this and every holiday season! Right before Thanksgiving, a freak tornado descends on Larkspur, the small town in Pennsylvania's Allegheny Mountains where matriarch and candy magnate Loretta Cisco--affectionately called Cisco by her grandchildren--lives, and levels the home she's inhabited for fifty years. Then there's more bad news: Cisco's beloved triplet grandchildren, Hannah, Sara, and Sam, all newlyweds, are experiencing marital problems and they refuse to confide in their grandmother about what's wrong. Sam's wife, Sonia, has left him, and Hannah and Sara fear that their husbands are having affairs. Why else would they be coming home so late every night and seem to be keeping secrets? As the citizens of Larkspur help to rebuild Cisco's home in time for Christmas, she vows to work a holiday miracle that will hold her family together.… (mere)

Such a disappointment from first book in the series and this was not a Thanksgiving story but more Christmas. Felt sorry for the grandmother Cisco losing her house to the tornado but liked boyfriend Ezra with his perspective positive attitude. Liked the reverend. Felt that Sam was the only good triplet story by learning and growing from his past. Hated that the only way the triplets solve their issues is by such horrid brutal fighting. Spoiler: The "happy" ending for the girls was not the way I would have wanted it by them just accepting the boat trip. ( )

A sequel to a book I have not read (or don't remember reading), which is always a little disconcerting. But it's an easy read, a story of strong women, of learning to leave your birth family for your husband, and of Thanksgiving. ( )

This is the second book in a series about The Cisco Family. [No Place Like Home] was the first book in the series. The "Trips" are now married and having some marital problems. Growing up they always counted on each other and didn't really have any outside friends, this has shown up later in life as their inability to trust or count on others. Their Grandmother, Loretta "Cisco", has just had her home demolished by a tornado, as have many others in their little town. As the "trips" come to grips with the need to let others in & learn to trust, "Cisco" has to learn to let go of the past and embrace the future...whatever it holds. ( )
