This is a cool book about reusing object. This would be fun to use in a homec class or just to teach kids about reusing things. This is a book about an old man who reuses his coat until its all gone.

This book would be good for primary students. This book is "Joseph Had a Little Overcoat" written and illustrated by Simms Taback, published in 1999. This book is so cute. It is about a guy named Joseph and started out with an overcoat and then it got worn, so he made a coat out of it , and then when that got worn he made a vest out of it, and that keep going on until he nil has a button and then he loses that button and he has nothing. Then, he makes a book out of his story after he has nothing and it ends with the lesson that you can always make something out of nothing. I would for sure use this in my class as it teaches a good lesson and teaches kids to be creative when they have nothing to work with. I that really great illustrations and is a lighthearted read.

This is a picture book about a man named Joseph who continued to recycle a coat he had all the way until it was just a button. This book has written based off a yiddish folk song called "I had a Little Overcoat." I really loved this book and would enjoy having it in my classroom for primary students. It was a quick read, creative, and the illustrations are unique. Reading this and then playing the song would be fun in the classroom. Also a Caldecott award winner!

Famous for his die-cut illustrations, Taback really knows how to work the surprise-and-delight angle. The book has a lot of Jewish culture in the illustrations, too, including little aphorisms and allusions that make up the details of his illustrations. This book would be great for story time with older toddlers or kindergarteners. Really fun. ( )
