Special Ops leader Eric Moyer and his team are en route to their respective homes aboard an airplane when they receive a call mid-air from their commander. They soon are informed they are being re-routed and sent on another mission. This particular mission is extremely dangerous and there will be no help available once the team is in country. They are tasked with retrieving a fallen satellite with very sensitive information with a secondary mission of rescuing a captured Special Ops team if possible.
While on mission, Sergeant Major Eric Moyer receives terrible news from home that could potentially compromise him during this urgent mission. While having to deal with the situation at home emotionally, he also must keep his head on straight to keep his team safe while fighting off special ops teams from China and an armed Russian group who are also after the satellite.
This book was fantastic! The story was relevant to what is happening today and the characters were well-defined and three dimensional, that is easy to relate to and feel emotion toward. The story was exciting, full of action and suspense. I couldn’t put the book down; it was that good! I just loved the camaraderie and teasing amongst the Special Ops team members. I had some laugh out loud moments. I also appreciated the very real aspect of being captured by an enemy and what may follow. That really brought home to me the risk these brave men and women take when accepting a mission. I am not very familiar with the military, but this gave me a new appreciation for those men and women in the armed services who put their lives on the line every day, willing to die if necessary to protect me. Thank you from the bottom of my heart to all who serve our great nation!
