This book does none of that. In fact, I would almost say the book "transcends" all belief system. Although I am far from an expert in other Christian teachings I would be surprised if anyone found anything in this book they considered inconsistent with their own teachings and beliefs. The book simply outlines what the Bible says about angels and provides meaning and understanding for the Bible text. I found nothing offensive in the book and would be surprised to find many Christians who do. I appreciate that, more often then not, the author cites other experts when explaining the verses instead of just stating his own opinion. I consider this far more valuable, knowing that the authors understanding of the Bible verses comes partially from studying other experts interpretation. I also appreciate that, while the book is about angels, David reminds us what angels are and what they are not, they are not beings to be worshipped. Worshipping belongs to God and God alone. This book is designed to be a study guide although, I must confess, I skipped the study guide portions. Having said that I would highly recommend this book for anyone looking to use it as a study guide. Given how well organized the book is I would imagine most would consider it well worth their time to use it in that manner. There was one thing in the book that I did not agree with. It's hardly worth mentioning because it was only in one sentence in the entire book but it is something near and dear to me. The author includes Dungeons and Dragons in the same category as Ouija boards and seances as evil. Dungeons and Dragons is a game no different then the Cowboys and Indians games we played as children. Yes, there is magic in it but the magic in this fantasy life is like everything else in our world, it is used for good and for evil. I am troubled that some people still see this game as evil. It is simply a fantasy game played by nerds (and I use that word affectionately because I am one), many of whom are god-fearing nerds. Okay...back to matter at hand...in summary, I thoroughly enjoyed reading this book. It was well written and provides a lot of really good information in a very concise manner.
