Hawke played 27 Test cricket matches for Australia between 1963 and 1968 but he was also a top quality footballer. He played at SANFL and WAFL level between 1957 and 1966. Parts of this book are about his football career in which he managed to play state football for both Western Australia and South Australia. A memoir by the late Neil Hawke, the former Australian cricketer and Port Adelaide Football club (amongst others) footballer. Hawke was probably one of the most talented all round athletes Australia has produced but one for whom talent came too easily and may therefore be underestimated by others. Hawke recalls his cricketing and Australian rules footballing career (kicking 15 goals in his second match before being promptly dropped), as well as name dropping the name of the father of a bloke I went to school with. Of course, Hawke was also "Bowled Over" at age 40 after eating some peanuts which led to massive organ failure and being bedridden for years until his early death. He covers this too. ingen anmeldelser | tilføj en anmeldelse
