Bellissimo anche il terzo sulla famiglia Kelly. La storia di Garret e Sarah che si nasconde perché ha visto il fratellastro (nemico giurato di Garret e del KGI) uccidere il suo stupratore e non vuole denunciarlo. Una storia intrigante e molto bella. ( )

Started out fairly strong and then fizzled into boredom. Which is too bad because I really liked the first one. I think the plot was too formulaic. After awhile you just knew what was going to happen so it didn't seem worth it to keep on. The whole business with him having lied to her about working for her brother was an example. You didn't even have to wonder 'hmm how's that going to turn out?' No suprises in the plot really. Darn you just never can tell with Maya Banks. She's very hit or miss for me. Sadly this was if not a total miss, at the very least a line drive straight to the first baseman. ( )

Keeping tabs on Sarah when she goes into hiding after her brother killed the man who raped her, she begins to trust him, all the while he lies about who he really is. You know shit's going to hit the fan

Disappointing - was expecting more from Garrett's book as he is my favorite Kelly brother.

The story gets off to a slow start and the domesticity of the interminable island scenes soon begins to grate on the nerves. Thankfully the pace eventually picks up once the suspense plot gains momentum.

Speaking of which, there are three separate suspense storylines and none are sufficiently developed or resolved satisfactorily. Although the main villain is a traitor and criminal he comes across as quite sympathetic and I appreciated his family loyalty. The secondary villain is a real scumbag and while he does get his just deserts, it occurs off page leaving the reader dissatisfied. The final thread is completely irrelevant and left me scratching my head in confusion and thinking where the hell did that come from.

The romance is the strongest element in the book. Sarah overcomes a terrible ordeal but shows that she is a true survivor Yes, she has her moments of fear and insecurity but never allows them to weaken her resolve. Garrett is so sexy, patient and understanding with her that it makes me almost forget that he is keeping secrets and lying (a trope that I dislike intensely). Nevertheless, they have a sweet and emotional bond that makes it all worthwhile.

The secondary characters are also entertaining, especially Rusty and Sean as well as Rio and Steele (who is particularly intriguing).

Nathan's story is next and it sounds really good. ( )

I had made the mistake and read some reviews of this on another site and let that influence me to not read this right away. I should know better. I really like the book and none of the side stories got in the way for me. Maya started these all of these characters in the first book in this series so it nice to see she gives us glimpses of them through out all of the books and even still has the previous brothers who already had there book still have a big roll in current books. I look at this series as a whole family book not just the H/H and maybe that is why I enjoyed it so much.. I am coming to love all of these characters as much as I did Lora Leigh's Seal series characters.. ( )
