Poor widdle baby t-rex with his widdle baby armsies. He can't help it that he's a terrifying carnivore.

Goodness. Kiddos loved it! ( )

Tyrannosaurus can't not be terrible.

1. Summary - This book is about a Tyrannosaurus Rex who feels like he is misunderstood by many who are like him but smaller. He wishes he could be a vegetarian, not make the earth shake when he walks, and even that he was smaller. He knows none of those things can change so he feel like he is terrible

2. Personal Reaction - I thought the book was very sad and not exactly what I expected when I picked it up and read the description. I thought it should have shown some kind of hope for the Tyrannosaurus Rex. Kids may make bad choices but that doesn't make them bad kids and my reaction to this book was that it taught them they couldn't help how they were and if they felt terrible to learn to accept it.

3. Extension Ideas
1. I could use this book to show that some people feel really bad about they way they look or act but sometimes it can not be helped, so we should always be nice and never judge a book by their cover.
2. I could use this book to show that words and reactions hurt and cause emotional damage.

Effective.  Critters can't help who they are - they're not 'wise as an owl' or 'scary as a wolf' - they are what they are.  We can't much help what we look like, either.  Love, or at least appreciate, us for ourselves.  The ironically soft pictures really make us rethink our opinions about dinosaurs, even if they aren't scientifically quite accurate.
