About My Library
My library is mostly made up of books that I have read, currently own, have owned at some point, or checked out from the library (in recent years, that accounts for many many books...). Current interests range from cooking to food writing to sustainability to mindfulness to meditation to neuroscience to mental health/psychology to sociology to anthropology to evolutionary psychology to books about books. I try to read the occasional lit book/novel but find that I just "dont have the time" to sit and give the book its due consideration and attention that it so deserves. So I end up reading nonfiction books that I can read in spurts of concentrated attention, e.g., recent popular books about how we are losing the ability for sustained attention and instead are becoming increasingly distracted (Maggie Jackson's "Distracted: The Erosion of Attention and the Coming Dark Age" & Nicholas Carr's "The Shallows: what the internet is doing to our brains"). Though it could also be because I have a new child... (updated 9/10/10)

This began as an exploration/excavation of my mind as I tried to recall all the books I have ever read or bought. Luckily, I actually kept lists of books I've read (at least during the last ten years). If it wasnt for these lists, I probably wouldnt have been able to recall a lot of these books. updated 1/12/09

As a memory exercise, trying to recall books & authors you've read, is absolutely fascinating! I can say that I had the most vivid and surprising dreams in a long while since LT has entered my life. All this unearthing of past memories of books has triggered a cascade of different thought patterns. 11/22/08
About Me
I like to read different things. One book seems to lead to another and to another and to another. And so on. I still need to learn how to organize my lists and my reading. Or maybe not. updated 1/12/09
