Meet fire-fighting fleas, telephoning toads, parading piranhas and vacuuming vultures — one for every letter of the alphabet! This is the ultimate alphabet picture book, exuberantly illustrated in bright, bold colour by award-winning illustrator David Wojtowycz. -- Scholastic, Inc.

In this simple counting book, the author gets children laughing and interested with the silly illustrations with animals to match each number from 1 to 10. Some examples are 7 singing sheep, 8 energetic eagle, 9 polite pigs, and 10 tigers in tutus. This is a fun book for children to learn numbers and one to one correspondence. This is definitely a book that teachers should have on their shelves for pre-k, kindergarten, and first grade.

I absolutely loved this counting book and the illustrations in this book. This would be great for preschoolers and young children I really love how the author used the end page to show all of the animals and numbers at the end to tie the book together.

This is a perfect book for a child just starting to read and count. I do think some of the words are big words, but if given the opportunity to read and re-read the book, those words would come naturally for the child. The context clues in the story will also help the child understand and remember the word.

Claude really wants a cuddle from his mom, but every time he asks she is too busy. Claude begins to feel like his mom doesn't love him anymore so he leaves to go play in the garden. Turns out, his mom was super busy planning a surprise visit for grandma to come see Claude!

Animal Antics is an adorable and easy book for young kids to enjoy and learn to count. Each page has different animals doing fun things tangoing, feasting and singing. The creative thing about this book is the illustrations. It's bright, crazy, colorful and always a perfect fit for the number the page is representing. For example, 5 feasting foxes. The page has 5 foxes, 5 candles, 5 burgers, 5 cupcakes, 5 cups, 5 oranges. It's great for kids to count all the pictures. It makes the book way more entertaining for the readers. This is a great book for kids who are just beginning to count and even read.

I found this book to be adorable. It is all about learning how to count from 1-10 through the illustrations of an animal hotel. The pictures are colorful, bright, and fun. I also think the illustrations are easy to follow. Everything in the pictures are the exact amount that is being counted on the page. For example: Seven Singing Sheep, so there are 7 sheep, 7 stars, and seven roses. I think this consistency is important in books like these. At the end, the animals are all in the hallway with their heads poking out, ready to be counted and I think the reinforcement of counting is helpful for children. The mice underground at the end was charming as well since their mouse holes were all over the animals' hotel through out the story.

"Animal Antics from 1 to 10," is a very cute book that shows animals doing different human activities. The book is a simple counting book starting from the number one and ending at ten. The book is good for young children who are beginning to learn their numbers and to count objects. The very last page is all of the animals with their heads out of their hotel rooms. This page would be very good to use to get children to count all of the animals again. It could also be used to get children to count the total number of animals in the book. I wouldn't read this book to children who are older because they would get very bored reading it.

There was not all that much to this story, but it was cute and colorful.
The king's crown gets stolen. The elephant goes to rescue the crown and runs into a damsel in distress. The damsel turns out to be the thief.

Eventually, the elephant gets the crown after the thief falls into the moat. The elephant rescues the thief who cannot swim. In the end, he and his zebra partner are declared knights.

This is a bright picture book using animals to illustrate the numbers 1-10. It is very simple and basic.

I loved the bright pages and simple words used. The pictures are action packed, bright and interesting. Young learners will enjoy counting the animals.

I would use this in a Math PreK through 1st grade classroom to help students see the concept of numbers. It can also be used in an ELA setting to let students begin telling stories about pictures. They can create their own stories to go with the pictures and make predictions about what the animals may do next or assumptions about what may have happened before.

The author uses silly animal antics in a very colorful form to make counting fun for children. There are singing sheep, pigs knitting, and tigers performing ballet. The author uses alliteration in this book as well as teaching numbers. For example, the author will say "Four frigtened frogs".

The illustrations are fantastic. All children will want to turn the page to see the next silly animals on it. The title page is great, too. This book is a must have for all pre-schoolers.

This was a very good picturebook that I think children would enjoy alot. It starts out with a young boy bear named Claude who was very excited about going to visit his great-aunt who lived in the Arctic. He traveled there by airplane, and when his parents dropped him off at the airport they explained that they would have a surprise for him when he got home. Once he arrived at his aunt's house he had a great time playing in the snow; however, he missed his parents alot. Before long, he returned home to a wonderful surprise, a baby sister.
I think this would be a good book to read to children in Kindergarten, first grade, and second grade. One good time to read it is on the first day of school because it deals alot with Claude missing his parents, which is something that most children go through on the first day of school. Also, I think winter time would be a great time to read it as well because it talks about Claude playing in the snow and shows Christmas trees in the pictures.

This book is a good example of poetry because the the words of the story are written purposely to express ideas about the farm animals and after each short description the sound of the animal is given. There is a repetion of this pattern throughout the story. Age appropriate: primary. Media: watercolors.

The setting in this book is a hotel. The characters are animals that are numbered. Verbs, and adjetives describe what these animals are doing.
This book starts with the number 1 and goes to 10. I wish that it would have incorporated the number 0(zero) for teaching children numbers. I do like how it describes the animals. The illustrations are very good. I remember using similar books like this one to help my children learn their numbers.
I would incorporate this book into my classroom by going over the simple numbers with my students. I would try to have my classroom, and myself come up with other animals for further numbers.
