Clarence Watkins is a native Memphian and a graduate of Memphis State University. He currently lives in Pelham, Alabama. He is a member of the Society for American Baseball Research (SABR) and the cofounder of the Southern Association Conference. Baseball in Montgomery af Clarence Watkins
Mostly a picture book, it did remind me of the Montgomery Rebels games I attended during the team's heyday in the 1970s when it won several pennants and many future Detroit Tigers passed through. It's also a reminder of all those men who toiled in the minor leagues, some with significant success, like Smokey Robinson, but never even got a cup of coffee in the Majors.
