This is a amazing book. Not great literature by any means but I was astounded to find this book about the Gestopo that was actually published in 1939 when the German "Police" were nearing the hight of their power and the outcome of the war was far from certain! It follows the formation of the spiders web from the 1870's to the late 1930's.
